Spring Plant Maintenance Checklist

In Columbus, the transition from April to June is big for your indoor garden. As cloudy skies lift and the sun finally stays out longer, your plants exit dormancy and enter a period of new growth. This is the window where your care routine determines how much your collection will thrive for the rest of the year.

April is all about setting the stage for the months of growth ahead. Your plants are waking up, and they are hungry.

By May, your plants are ready to start pushing that new growth. This is the month of structural support and multiplication.

June brings the heat and the high-angle sun. It’s time to protect your plants from the elements, and your own air conditioning.

Regardless of the month, keep these three tasks on your weekly Sunday ritual:

  1. The Finger Test: Check soil moisture before pouring a single drop.
  2. Leaf Dusting: Wipe those leaves! Dust blocks and prevents the plant from absorbing the new spring light.
  3. Drainage Check: Ensure no plant is sitting in a pool of stagnant water in its decorative saucer.

If your plants have officially outgrown their homes during this Spring boom, don't panic. We’re here to help you manage the expansion. Pop on in if you have any additional questions on how to get your plants thriving.
